Thank you Jeeven and Party Central for organising the dholis

I have been in touch with Jeeven, who organises events for Party Central, and he has been a great help. His customer service is excellent. He was very patient and helpful in finding the package best suited to my requirements, even though there were a few changes to timings and dates. Jeeven is a very friendly guy, easy to communicate with and very quick to respond. So thank you, Jeeven, for organising the dholis for me.

    Party Central event planning experience

Sanj from Party Central has been absolutely brilliant in helping us find the right DJ package for our event and venue. From the very beginning, he has been so friendly, approachable and genuinely helpful. He has given us lots of great advice, not only about the DJ package but also about the venue, which we really appreciated. I would definitely recommend Sanj and Party Central.

What do dhol players bring to an event?

A dhol is a double-headed barrel drum from Punjab, played with two sticks: the heavier dagga for the bass side and the thin tihli for the treble. It is loud, fast and made to move a crowd.

At UK weddings, dhol players lead the baraat, bring the couple into the reception and play high energy sets alongside the DJ. Most bookings are for two to four players.

Where it works best

  • Baraat entrances

Lead the groom's party to the venue doors.

  • Bride and groom entrances

A big walk-in for the reception.

  • Dhol sets

Short, loud sets over the DJ to lift the floor.

  • Corporate events

Openings, launches and Diwali or Vaisakhi parties.

  • Festivals

Mela stages, parades and outdoor events.

  • Destination weddings

UK teams flown out for weddings abroad.

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Check the venue's noise rules

Some venues have sound limits or cut-off times for live drums. Tell us the venue and we will check before we quote.

  2. 2

    Plan the baraat route

Agree where the baraat starts, how long it walks and where it finishes. Five minutes of walking is plenty for most families.

  3. 3

Time the entrance with your DJ

The best entrances hand over cleanly between dhol and DJ. We share a simple running order with both.
